Why do men cheat?

There are many reasons as to why a man may cheat, whether it is on his girlfriend, wife or partner. However, do all men cheat?
When asked the question “ Does a man need more than woman” we got a number of yes’ with a variety of whys, which are as follows:

• God created more women than men
• Boredom
• Because they can
• Variety of personalities
• Lack of quality in relationship

Some say that because they may cheat, it does not mean they do not love the person they are in a relationship with. For most, it is just a ‘sexual thing’. The person a man cheats with may mean nothing to them. It is like they cannot help themselves, but as another guy stated, depending on how stable the man is, depends on how stable the relationship and commitment is.

Does this then mean that a man who cheats is an unstable man? Well, what we do need to remember is that men are good at detaching their feelings. If a man wants more excitement; feels devalued in the home; or even feels stifled in a relationship he is bound to cheat. He will look for that boost or that breath of fresh air, to be found in another woman. The only commitment that he may have with the other woman is of a physical nature, the emotions and feelings being abstract from the partnership.

On the other hand, some men go into a relationship, not intending to remain faithful. We all know that there are more women in the world then men, but some men use this as an excuse not to remain faithful to their girlfriend, wife or partner. One man put it this way, “My wife is like the trophy, and all the other women are like the medals”.

Another statement was made saying, "Imagine if there was only 40 million men and 60 million women, how would you feel to be one of the 20 million not to have a man?" No answer!

•The categories that each woman was put in is as follows:
•The Wifey = Girlfriend or Wife
•The Show Girl = The woman taken places because she looks good
•The Dirty Girl = The woman who does what he does not allow the wifey to do

In talking with a group of men, we concluded that this is a young man’s mentality. The more mature men believed that a woman could be all three, given the occasion. As one man put it “A lady in the day, but a freak at night”.

Cheating is not exclusive past-time of Men as there is increasing evidence that Women cheat also.
